Nuzzlets is self funded; we rely on donations to continue our work.
From 1st August 2012 a suggested minimum donation to cover the cost of consumables is:
Under 1′s free.
Schools
£2 per hour per child. 1 carer free with every child.
Extra adults £1 per hour.
Family visits
£2 per hour per person.
Minimum donation £5 per hour.
Hospices
Travel expenses at 40 pence per mile.
Retirement homes and Nurseries
£50 per hour and travel expenses at 40 pence per mile.
Examples of some of our expenses:
- £7 buys 2 bales of straw or 1 bale of hay, this is going to be more expensive this year.
- £10 buys a bag of feed.
- The blacksmith is £15 per pony every 8 weeks, £935 pa.
- Our vet bill is approx £1650 pa.
- Our feed bill is approx £2000 pa.
- Our insurance cover is approx £427 pa.
This year the average family donation for Birthday parties has been £5 per child.
With this money we have been able to feed and care for the animals.
