On Christmas Eve we took Santa and his reindeers, 3 goats, a sheep, Lady Gaga the duck, a hen and lots of rabbits and guinea pigs to Martin House Children’s Hospice, Boston Spa.
It was a very special event with over 200 children with their families and carers.
See the photos below:
On the 28th December 2011 we visited a residential care home in York.
1 resident who had stayed in her room at the home and previously at her own home for over 12 years came downstairs to see the animals.
Everyone enjoyed seeing Jenny, this year’s pet lamb.
On 4th December 2011 we attended Askham Bryan College Christmas Fair, we were helped by 2 DoE students Cindy and Constance.
Askham Bryan College were very kindly raising funds for us.
On Friday 1st December we had our first Christmas visit this year with Alfie, mum and grandma.
We have been given 2 Rex rabbits, they are called them Peter Rabbit and Ginger.
Rex rabbits coats are so smooth and soft like velvet, particulary lovely for children to stroke.
Lolly Hernandez won New Volunteer of the Year award at the Harrogate and District Volunteering Oscars on Friday 4th November 2011.
Our other volunteers who received their nomination certificates also enjoyed the evening.
Our new workshop/greenhouse has arrived, in this our visitors will be able to plant seeds and learn about horticulture.
We are very grateful for the kind donations of £500 from Doyle plc and £496 from Lloyds Bank (thanks to Jim Moulton for securing this money) which will help pay for this building.

Martin House Sibling Day, animals and volunteers dressed up for Xmas. Please see some photos below.
Tracey Oliver, whose 3 year old son Alfie, urgently needs a heart and lung transplant supported Nuzzlets by organising a Halloween children’s party at Burton Stone Community Centre on 29th October 2011.
Tracey, Rob and Alfie have been to the Nuzzlets farm on many occassions and seen the Nuzzlets animals at Martin House Children’s Hospice. Alfie enjoyed his 3rd birthday party at Nuzzlets and has given a loving home to Patch and Stripe, a lionhead rabbit and guinea pig.
The children at the tea party played with the Nuzzlets animals, had face painting, balloon modeling, cake decorating and pumpkin carving.
Tracey made £210 for Nuzzlets for which we are extremely grateful.
